SCHOFIELD – Greenheck Group confirmed Monday that an employee with 35 years of experience at the company died from injuries sustained in a workplace accident that happened July 10 at its Schofield

SCHOFIELD – Greenheck Group confirmed Monday that an employee with 35 years of experience at the company died from injuries sustained in a workplace accident that happened July 10 at its Schofield facility.

The company activated its internal medical response team and immediately called emergency personnel to assist Frank Lotharius, who was transported to a local hospital following the accident, according to a news release from the company.

“This is heartbreaking for our entire team of 5,300 team members,” Rich Totzke, Greenheck Group chief executive officer, said in the release. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Frank’s family, loved ones and teammates during this very difficult time.”

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident, and Greenheck Group is cooperating with authorities, the release said.

Greenheck Group is making counselors available to assist team members.

Established in 1947, Greenheck Group is a global manufacturer of commercial air movement, controland conditioning equipment. Its Schofield facility manufactures fans and ventilators, centrifugal and vane axial fans, dampers, louvers, make-up air units, energy recovery ventilators, and kitchen ventilation systems, according to its website.
